In the week of the UK General Election, ITV reminded viewers of the power of a vote – something its viewers have innately understood for decades, since the broadcaster began using the public vote to determine the winners of its reality and entertainment TV shows.
Created by ITV Creative, the film runs through various polls which run as part of the channel’s major shows such as Britain’s Got Talent, Love Island and Big Brother. The final frame reads: “You know the power of a vote. Vote this General Election.”
Tom Houser, ECD of ITV Creative said, “ITV already has an audience who understand the power of a vote, the difference it can make to people’s lives. The most important thing this General Election is to make your voice heard, we hope this will encourage viewers to get out here and vote on July 4th.”
The film was first aired on ITV1 on Tuesday 2nd July during the Euros, going on to air across a range of evening spots on ITV1 and ITV2 including soaps and Love Island, and on social channels.
