Specsavers’ latest ‘Should’ve’ spot sees couple Greg and Ella making their way through the airport. While Ella serenely arrives at her seat, Greg blunders his way through the departure gates, security and departure lounge before coming a cropper on what he thinks are the stairs to his plane. All would have gone much smoother if he’d gone to get his dodgy eyesight checked at Specsavers, of course.
The ad was directed by Declan Lowney, of Father Ted and Ted Lasso fame.
“We wanted to do something different with this spot – up the jeopardy, up the scale and increase the gags,” says Richard James, creative director at Specsavers. “It’s a fun spot that we’re sure will resonate with all sorts of people. Declan and the team worked really hard together to bring the script to life so successfully.”
